Tybalt and Remi, relaxing

When I wrote this story for the YaoiCon Fiction Anthology back in 2004, I based Tybalt loosely on a drawing of an unnamed catboy by an artist named Tanko. By some great twist of luck, the same Tanko wound up illustrating The Tears of Anael in the anthology. I think that was a major part of my original decision to continue writing for the convention.

Since then, Tanko has been very busy, and Tammy Lee has illustrated Tybalt’s adventures since. Still, Tanko’s version is the original, and personally, the best and truest to Tybalt’s spirit, attitude, and inspiration.
