1000 Gears begins a Grand Adventure!

This is Catboy!

I made this place for you. It is a gift. Mostly it is here so that people can share their bursts of creativity (writing and pictures both!), and other people can come to enjoy them. There are of course other places where you can do this. Unfortunately, I think one of the big places is having a rough year, which is making it cranky and not so nice to its contributors. Those places are very big and quite friendly. Friendly is very important, but I think some of the people on them, while very friendly, are… uhm… perhaps in need of more practice before they stand up in front of the world. *nod*

This is not such a good situation.

(Catboy always tries to be optimistic about people and is far too polite to actually point out specific examples. Fortunately for you, I am not. - Adrian)

Being a small Catboy, I do not think I can make you a place like that. Certainly it would not stay up for very long. Even with this small place there are very many things I must do to keep everything from falling apart. Still I think it is better to give you a small gift than no gift at all. What I have done is asked some of my friends (who have very much practice) to come and share with you, and also to go through the creative bits that other people wish to share. They have promised to pick out as much of the goodness as they can.

This place is not big enough to hold everything from everybody, and I am very sorry for this. I do not think this is all bad though.

Think of it like having someone to pick out the raisins and almonds from your cereal for you. The bowl is much smaller, because you are missing all the flakes and air, but the goodness is all concentrated and every spoonful is tasty. On the other hand flakes are good for you. Sometimes flakes are even tasty. Besides, if you did not have flakes you would be spoiled and not know how good the raisins and almonds are. Still, many times, the flakes are an awful lot of chewing just to get the parts you want.

That is the idea at least.

Right now there is only a little bit of material for you to explore. There will be more very soon, I promise.
